What’s Going To Happen in 2022?

I think we're going to see more of the same in our 2022 market.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s Eve. We want to thank you all for making 2021 a phenomenal year for us at Northfork Realty. We had a crazy big year, and it was all thanks to your love and support!

Everyone’s asking, “What’s going to happen in 2022?” I believe we’re going to have more of the same. We’re going to have more crazy politics, more crazy pandemics, and more inflation. We’ve seen inflation for a while. Interest rates have to rise soon, but I don’t think that’s going to happen right away.

I think house values are going to continue to rise, inventory will remain tight, and we’ll see more supply chain issues. The cost of lumber is already starting to rise again. Rising interest rates will slow the market down a bit, but that would actually be a good thing. We’ve seen such high appreciation that we want it to slow down. The housing market will continue to stay strong throughout 2022.
